Tidewater Drillers defeats Outer Banks Daredevils despite Bailey Lipscomb’s strong effort, 3-0

Monday, July 6, 2015 – Kill Devil Hills, NC

Bailey Lipscomb held up his end of the bargain, but Lipscomb couldn’t guide Outer Banks Daredevils past Tidewater Drillers as Outer Banks Daredevils lost 3-0 at PNC Park, First Flight Athletic Complex on Monday.

Tidewater Drillers had no answer for Lipscomb, who kept runners off the basepaths in his appearance. Tidewater Drillers managed just three hits off of Lipscomb, who allowed no earned runs, walked two and struck out five during his three innings of work.

Kyle Majette got it done on the bump on the way to a win. He tossed seven innings of shutout ball. He struck out 14, walked none and surrendered three hits. Turner Bishop came in for the 8th and 9th, picking up the save.

Colton Harlow ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with the loss. He lasted just five innings, walked none, struck out six, and allowed three runs.

Tidewater Drillers never surrendered the lead after the first inning, scoring one run on an error.

Tidewater Drillers tacked on another two runs in the third. Kyle Butler started the inning with a single, scoring Nick Faison. That was followed up by Mitch Monyhan’s single, bringing home Kyle Butler.
