We wanted to say thank you to all of our fans and sponsors for their support of Daredevils baseball this season. We are happy to say our home team Daredevils were first half champions in the Tidewater Summer League, and battled the second half champion Tidewater Drillers in the rain shortened League Championship Series and after splitting the series with a win each, the League declared the Outer Banks Daredevils and the Tidewater Drillers Co-Champions for the 2013 Season. Thank you again to everyone who came out and supported the Daredevils, and thank you to all of our great sponsors, and our host families for your support. As we say goodbye to the boys of summer, we look forward to the 2014 season, and hope everyone will be back at the ballpark next summer for Outer Banks Daredevils baseball.
Thursday, August 8, 2013 – First Flight Baseball Complex, Kill Devil Hills, NC.
Outer Banks Daredevils pounded out 11 hits in route to an 8-2 victory over the Tidewater Drillers on Thursday at First Flight HS in Game 2 of the League Championship Series.
Outer Banks Daredevils scored four runs in the first on a solo home run by Eric Schenck-Joblinske, an RBI single by Will Miller, and a two-run double by Kevin Stein.
Eric racked up two RBIs on one hit for Outer Banks Daredevils.
Josh Vales got the win for Outer Banks Daredevils. He allowed two runs over six innings. He struck out eight, walked six and surrendered three hits.
Outer Banks Daredevils piled on three more runs in the bottom of the fourth. A bases loaded walk scored Zach Hynes to get Outer Banks Daredevils on the board in the inning. That was followed up by Conner Hall‘s single, scoring Tommy Kane and Dylan Harvey.
It didn’t take long for Tidewater Drillers to respond as it scored one run of its own in the fifth and sixth innings. Outer Banks Daredevils added another in the sixth, putting the finishing touches on their 11 hit, 8 run effort.

Tuesday, August 6, 2013 – First Flight Baseball Complex, Kill Devil Hills, NC.
It was a tight game until Tidewater Drillers scored seven late runs for the 7-1 victory over Outer Banks Daredevils on Tuesday at First Flight HS.
Nick Faison got the win for Tidewater Drillers. He pitched two shutout innings. Nick Faison struck out one, walked one and gave up one hit.
The game was never in doubt after the seventh, as Tidewater Drillers scored two runs on a two-run single by Kurt Sinnen.
Tidewater Drillers tacked on another five runs in the eighth. A clutch error scored Jeffrey Swoope to open the scoring in the frame. That was followed up by Kyle Morrison‘s single, scoring Tyler Tharp.
Outer Banks Daredevils scored its only run of the game on an RBI double by Eric Schenck-Joblinske in the ninth inning.

Wednesday, July 31, 2013 – First Flight Baseball Complex, Kill Devil Hills, NC.
Tyler Woodhouse allowed just two runs on Wednesday at First Flight HS, but Outer Banks Daredevils couldn’t get the offense going in a 2-1 defeat to Tidewater Drillers.
Ryan Galvin recorded the win for Tidewater Drillers. He pitched five shutout innings. Ryan Galvin struck out six, walked two and gave up four hits.
Tidewater Drillers stayed on top until the final out after taking the lead in the second, scoring one run on an RBI double by Kyle Morrison.
The lone run of the game for Outer Banks Daredevils crossed the plate in the seventh inning on a groundout by Eric Schenck-Joblinske.

Tuesday, July 30, 2013 – First Flight Baseball Complex, Kill Devil Hills, NC.
John Croak went 3-3 at the plate as Outer Banks Daredevils took home a 6-3 victory over Greenbrier Knights at First Flight HS on Tuesday.
He singled in the third, sixth, and eighth innings.
James Walsh was in control on the mound. Greenbrier Knights managed just three hits off of Walsh, who allowed no earned runs, walked three and struck out four during his six innings of work.
Outer Banks Daredevils stayed on top until the final out after taking the lead in the third, scoring three runs on a groundout by Conner Hall and a two-run triple by Eric Schenck-Joblinske.
Two runs in the top of the fourth helped Greenbrier Knights close its deficit to 3-2. A walk by Tyler Crupper and a passed ball gave Greenbrier Knights life. Finally, James got Cam Stewart to ground out to end the threat.
Outer Banks Daredevils tacked on another two runs in the eighth. A sacrifice fly scored Will Connerly for the inning’s first run. That was followed up by Eric’s single, scoring Cam Kostyack.
One run in the top of the ninth helped Greenbrier Knights close its deficit to 6-3. A groundout by Tyler Jordan triggered Greenbrier Knights’ comeback. Finally, Josh Howard got Jordan Sargent to ground out to end the game.

Virginia Warriors didn’t stand a chance on Friday, as Outer Banks Daredevils captured a blowout 11-1 win at First Flight HS.
Will Connerly racked up four RBIs on three hits for Outer Banks Daredevils. He doubled in the first inning, singled in the seventh inning, and tripled in the eighth inning.
Virginia Warriors’ lineup had no answer for Devon Hemmerich. Virginia Warriors managed just one hit off of Hemmerich, who allowed one earned run, walked four and struck out seven during his seven innings of work.
Outer Banks Daredevils never surrendered the lead after the second inning, scoring one run on a steal of home by Kevin Stein.
Outer Banks Daredevils piled on three more runs in the bottom of the fifth. Raheim Cooper singled, scoring Eric Schenck-Joblinske to start the inning. That was followed up by Kevin’s single, bringing home Raheim.
Outer Banks Daredevils answered Virginia Warriors’ top inning with two runs of its own in the sixth. Outer Banks Daredevils scored on a two-run double by Will Miller.
Outer Banks Daredevils added four more runs in the bottom of the eighth. The inning looked promising, as Will Connerly tripled, plating Cam Kostyack, Kevin and Dylan Harvey to kick things off. That was followed up by Eric’s double, scoring Will Connerly.

Thursday, July 25, 2013 – First Flight Baseball Complex, Kill Devil Hills, NC
Conner Hall‘s walk-off hit into a fielder’s choice off of Luke Suttmiller boosted Outer Banks Daredevils to an 11-10 win over the Mid Atlantic Pirates in 10 innings at First Flight HS on Thursday.
Conner racked up six RBIs on three hits for Outer Banks Daredevils. He doubled in the second inning and singled in the third and eighth innings.
Each team blasted the other’s pitching, and there were 21 total runs and 25 hits during the game. Both bullpens were busy with six pitchers used in the game as the skippers of both squads tried to finish it off.
Hunter Earley got the win for Outer Banks Daredevils. He allowed two runs over four innings. Hunter struck out four, walked one and gave up four hits.
The top of the first saw the Mid Atlantic Pirates take an early lead, 1-0.
Outer Banks Daredevils brought home three runs in the second inning, and matched that run total in the third. In the second, Outer Banks Daredevils scored on a three-run double by Conner, plating Cam Kostyack, John Croak and Zach Hynes.
After a quick strike from the Mid Atlantic Pirates, Outer Banks Daredevils responded with two runs in the sixth. Outer Banks Daredevils scored on and a fielder’s choice.
The Mid Atlantic Pirates scored one run in each of the seventh, eighth and tenth. In the seventh, the Mid Atlantic Pirates scored on a groundout by Killen Strenn, plating Rob Reaume.
Outer Banks Daredevils answered the Mid Atlantic Pirates’ top inning with two runs of its own in the tenth. Outer Banks Daredevils scored on a passed ball.

Aaron Nardone, Delaware State / Greenbrier Knights was named MVP of the 2013 Tidewater Summer League Collegiate All-Star Game Wednesday night. Nardone hit a 3 run home run in the bottom of the 1st inning, giving the South All-Stars the lead that they never relinquished, winning over the North All-Stars by a final score of 6 – 4. Conner Hall (Longwood Univ./Outer Banks Daredevils) had a 2 for 2 night with a walk and a run scored, and Eric Schneck-Joblinski (Kirkwood CC/Outer Banks Daredevils) went 1 for 1 with a 2 RBI Triple and 2 walks. Chase Kyriacov (Virginia Wesleyan College / Virginia Warriors) was the winning pitcher, and Josh Howard (Methodist Univ. / Outer Banks Daredevils) picked up the Save. The North All-Stars did not go quietly, putting up 4 runs, led by Kurt Sinnen (ODU/Tidewater Drillers) who had a 2 for 3 night with a walk and run scored, and Tyler Tharp (VMI/Tidewater Drillers) was 2 for 4 with a run scored. Josh Moore (Va Tech/Lynnhaven Stars) was 2 for 3 with a run scored, and Justin Lee (Norfolk State Univ. / Mid Atlantic Pirates) was 1 for 4 with a 2 RBI single in the 5th and Turner Bishop (ODU/Tidewater Drillers) had a 2 RBI single in the 6th. Billy Nixon (Hampden Sydney / Mid Atlantic Pirates) took the loss for the North All Stars. Thank you to everyone who came out and joined us for this great night of baseball.
